Keep The Festival Alive! |
Founded
in 2001, the African American Heritage Festival has
become one of the premiere Atlantic-coast summer festivals,
offering to its patrons free-of-charge a wide array
of entertainment and activities, from crafts and carnival
rides in the Children's Area to live performances on
the main stage. For three years, the Festival
has been proud to offer its celebration of African American
culture and history to you asking only that you come
and have fun, but we now need your help to Keep the
Festival Alive!
Through hard work,
every year the Festival has been able to bring nationally
acclaimed musical artists for free concerts, drawing
crowds of more than 450,000 people over the course of
three days, leading many to believe that as an organization
the Festival is somehow profitable and financially self-sustaining.
The truth in fact is quite different. The Festival's
founding organization, the African American Festival
Foundation, is a not-for-profit organization that is
comprised solely of unpaid volunteer committee members
who spend tens of hours of their personal time to bring
you the best attractions and entertainment available.
We rely solely on charitable contributions from corporate
sponsors and individual donors and spend every cent
we raise to create an event that your family will enjoy
and remember for years to come.
To fully achieve our
vision for the African American Heritage Festival,
we
need your personal support and appreciate any donation
you can make to ensure that the Festival can go on
another
year. To make a donation of any kind, please
follow
the instructions below and be sure to attend this year's
Festival from June 27 -June 29 at Camden Yards!
